Infrared Camera and Roof leaks
I use my infrared camera on all my inspections. The below pictures were taken on a 4 year old home. The roof was in good condition and without using the infrared camera, I could of never discovered a roof leak.
Below is a picture of a wall in a bedroom. There is no staining at all. In fact, it looks normal.
Below is what the Infrared camera saw.
More moisture was spotted by the infrared camera in the wall at the floor level. The dark blue/purple areas are where moisture is active.
I looked at the other side of the wall in the family room:
Below is what the infrared camera saw.
The attic was checked and moisture stains were found.
A moisture meter was used to confirm moisture was active.
